“GREEN TO BLUE” MEETING-HELD AT THE FOP 11-28-2011
From Alfeia D. Goodwin on 11-29-2011
Good morning everyone. Yesterday’s meeting was a great success, we were joined by Sergeant Corcoran from the Philadelphia Police Academy who provided an update of the OJT program specifically as it pertains to Class #357.
For Peer Support Leaders, Sergeant Corcoran is considering the week of Dec. 12, 2011 as approachable for ‘Badges to Bottles’, ‘Shooters’, and ‘Green to Blue’ to come into the academy and speak briefly about the Law Enforcement Network and the resources that are provided through these efforts.
As we move closer to the week of the Dec. 12th, Sergeant Corcoran will provide us with a more concrete date. We are making every effort to contact qualifying members of Class #357 and inform them of this recent OJT status.
I have also taken the liberty of contacting officers in “Green to Blue” requesting a ‘detail’ to assist Sergeant Corcoran as needed on Dec. 15th, 2011 at 9am at the Philadelphia Police Academy.
Please do not hesitate to contact me in reference to information or any related matter.
Thank you for all you do.

P.S. In reference to this new and exciting endeavor, I am requesting a general stating:
“Green to Blue” is the group that supports soldiers to police officers.
The OJT (On the Job Training) program through the Department of Education’s Military and Veteran’s Affairs has granted an effective date of Nov.8th, 2011 of approval. Members of Class #357 wishing to use veteran educational benefits please contact Sergeant Corcoran at the Police Academy (215-685-8778) for further information. We are looking to process all necessary documentation involving Class #357 by Dec. 15th, 2011.
