Mr.John J. McNesby
Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #5
1336 Spring Garden Street
Philadelphia, PA 19123
Let me take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the support given me by the Lodge in the recent primary election. As you are aware and I hope most of our brothers and sisters are aware, I was successful in my campaign winning both the Democratic and Republican Primaries for Judge of the Municipal Court. Because of my success in the recent primary elections I have been appointed to fulfill an unexpired term for the remainder of the year.
I was given my oath of office July 7, 2009, which was chosen specifically because it was the eleventh anniversary of my retirement from the Philadelphia Police Department. My oath of office was given to me by another member of our Lodge Mr. Justice McCaffery, who like me has sons that are members of the Philadelphia Police Department and the Fraternal Order of Police. I am proud and happy to follow in the path of Mr. Justice McCaffery and Judge Joel Johnson and be the third member of the Philadelphia Police Department and our lodge to ascend to the bench.
I will be eternally grateful for all support the Lodge has given me and look forward to the future in the service of the citizens of the City of Philadelphia.
Joseph C. Waters, Jr.
Member Fraternal Order of Police and
Judge of the Municipal Court
CC: The Honorable Seamus McCaffery
Justice, Supreme Court of PA
